Digipak

Here is a photo of our final Digipak:

Editing the digipak

This is screenshots of us editing our digipak. It is important that there is a clear change shown from the beginning images to the final product.

Here we have taken our original image and started to change the hue and saturation on it because our idea is that because the music video is quite dark we want this to show through our digipak so we are going to make it black and white. the idea is that we are going to have one part of the image that will be in colour and this will be the artist. i think that this will make the front cover stand out more and will draw the viewers attention.

This screenshots shows that we have changed the colour on the image. when doing this i didn't want it to be to dark that it is unable to to see it, but on the other hand we didn't want the image to be too light. We had to take into consideration that our text would be white swell so this would need to be shown and be visible, so getting that balance was tricky.

Here i am trying to make only pat of the image black and whits as i want to make the person in the image the original colour because i think, that this will make them stand out to the viewer more. I think, that i am also going to enhance to colour of the scarf and bring out the vibrancy of it just add more of an impact to the final piece.

Lastly here i am trying to erase out the white parts in order to try and recreate the indentation for the cd. This will go on the right inside part of the digipak. This is proving to be quite difficult because it is important that it has a clear sharp edge and no white parts are visible in order for it to look realistic. I think that i will try and create little marks in each of the corners as i have seen this in some digipak in order to help take the CD out of the case.

choosing the digipak images

Choosing digipak images:

When it comes to creating our digipak it is important that we use the images that we will use for our magazine cover.

These are the two main images that we will use when creating our digipak and the image at the top will be the image that we use for our magazine cover. this image i think has been taken at a good angle and i like how we have taken it so that the lighting of the image has created a shadows. i think that it is effective and shows thought into the composition of the image. when  editing it we will add a filter to make it look more like a digipak.
This is the image that i will use as our back cover. i think that this is a good image to use based on the fact that the image is off centre so it allows us room to add in our lyrics or the playlist of songs that will be featured on this album. When editing this we will include the side filter that we will apply when editing the images to complete our digipak. Again i think that this image shows consideration of the composition and i like how we have gone against the typical way of how a digipak image would look as usually the artist is looking at the camera where as we haven't.

This is the template that we will use also so that we can get a proper understanding of the layout of a digipak and the components that it has.
