A digipak is a "patented style of optical disc packaging, and is a registered trademark of AGI-Shorewood, an Atlas Holdings LLC company".
Digipak are used to advertise the artists songs and usually contain two CDs on the inside.
As part of our coursework we must create a digipak that much advertise our music video and our band. when designing this it is important that the layout is correct and we follow a template. in doing so I have found an image on google so that it helps me to gain a better understanding of what we have to recreate and what is expected. The template that I have decided to follow is this:
This is the template that I have decided to use and follow when designing my digipak. When displaying it I will have the layout slightly different. The purpose for having this template is to mainly understand where things go and what information goes on what part of the digipak.
By doing this research it has allowed me and my group to gain a better understanding of how a digipak actually works and what it actually looks like. it is important that we done this because a digipak is different to a CD cover.
As well as adding our own touch to our digipak i think that it is also important to gain other information about how other artists have set out their digipak and the layout on each part of their digipak and the information that they have used. An example of an artists work is this:

This is Marina and the Diamonds digipak.They have used the same style of image for each part of their digipak and have used the same colours. The back part of her digipak to show the songs that are on the album. The back of the digipak also contains the barcode and the information and the record label. This differentiates from ours as we have included this information at the front of our digipak. I think that this digipak is effective as its colourful and represents the bad well and the type of music that is on it. I like how the title is bold and to me i think that this is the thing that stands out the most.
It is important that we take some of these qualities and use them on our digipak. It is important that we include crucial information such as the record label and a barcode and think carefully about where it should be placed. The last thing that we need to make sure is that the images that we use all work well together and fit in with the whole digipak and we keep up with a colour theme if we decide to use one.
